HOUSTON (KIAH) – FEMA and the Small Business Administration will begin damage assessments in communities hit hard by flooding. In Harris County, flood victims are asked to stack debris in six different piles: normal trash, vegetation, construct debris, appliances, electronics, and hazardous waste like chemicals and batteries. The county is still deciding when to collect all of the storm debris, but they say it will happen soon. Meanwhile, during the recent flooding events in Harris County, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and his deputies have been working around the clock to serve citizens impacted by high waters.
