One Tank Trip: Largest trampoline park in West Virginia

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Are you buzzing for some family time?

The Hive Entertainment Zone, located in Bridgeport, W.Va., offers a place where the whole family can jump, climb or play their way into a new adventure.

Marketing Coordinator and Co-Owner Cara Cohen says after years a planning, and months of preparing, The Hive finally came to life in January 2025.

“We are small business owners and members of the community here and we’ve always kind of heard, and we’ve always kind of felt, that there has been a need for something, for families and kids alike, to come and enjoy,“ said Cohen. ”We have small children ourselves, and we often times found ourselves like saying what can we do, where can we go and. You know, we were having to leave the area to go and find things to do.”

The main play area consists of an air track sport court, a free-falling airbag, a climbing wall, an interactive trampoline game, a balance beam and a freestyle court.

There is also a redemption arcade with about 40 games.

“People will say, ‘hey, we could spend all day here,’ which is what we love to hear, because we do feel that there’s something for everyone,” Cohen said.

While there is an inflatable park for all ages, The Hive also have a kiddie one for ages 2-5. There is also a soft playground for toddlers, along with designated toddler play times if families are worried about other children.

There is a disclaimer The Hive includes, noting toddler time can be canceled if there is a conflicting event.

“Right now, we are offering toddler time Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.,” Cohen said. “If for some reason we would have to cancel, we still like to keep the pricing the same for the toddler if they still want to come in with their parent or supervising adults.”

If families need a toned down experience, The Hive offers a Sensory Wednesday once a month.

Since The Hive is located inside the Meadowbrook Mall, they do follow mall hours during the week. However, every Friday and Saturday night, they offer a special glow party after hours.

“We have glow paint and glow features so when we turn down the lights and turn up the black lights, everything in here glows so it gives a different atmosphere on Fridays and Saturdays. Something for kids to come and do after the mall closes,” Cohen added.

The Hive also offers the ability to host large groups and parties.

“You can host large events here. You can host birthday parties, really any celebration,” Cohen said. “We welcome any type of group. We have home school groups already coming in, sports teams celebrating their end of seasons. Field trips. Birthday parties. The sky is the limit, truly, with what we can offer here. We can customize parties.”
