FEMA officials can’t stay in Puerto Rico forever, Trump warns

President Trump on Wednesday lamented the state of damage in Puerto Rico after the most devastating Hurricane in the island “Hurricane Maria” made landfall weeks ago.

President Trump equally issued a warning to the hurricane-ravaged island, saying the U.S. territory’s infrastructure was a mess before the storm and insisting that federal officials cannot stay on the island “forever.”

The president who visited the island last week, asked Congress this week for a $4.9 billion loan to help Puerto Rico pay its bills from the storm.

“”Puerto Rico survived the Hurricanes, now a financial crisis looms largely of their own making.” says Sharyl Attkisson. A total lack of…..”, Trump wrote in a tweet.

“…accountability say the Governor. Electric and all infrastructure was disaster before hurricanes. Congress to decide how much to spend….”

…We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!

Meanwhile, Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer has fired back at Trump’s tweets, insisting that FEMA has to stay until the job is done. In a tweet, he said, “There is still devastation, Americans are still dying. FEMA needs to stay until the job is done.”
